Psalm 1:3
That person is like a tree
planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither –
whatever they do prospers.
Explanation of this artwork.
The first Psalm is like a gateway to the Book of Psalms. This Psalm wishes you happiness. The image visualizes humans like a tree loaded with precious fruit. The roots of the tree are grounded in the Thora, in God’s law. It also points to Jesus as the Fountain of Life, from which mankind may drink to grow, flourish and bear fruit. Inside a person singing Psalms, precious water starts to flow: life, joy and happiness. Everyday. Forever. – Jedi Noordegraaf.
What fruit do you bear?
For some people life is a dry and barren place. Perhaps all people experience periods of sadness. Maybe we lost perspective or we find ourselves on dead-end streets. Are there any parts of your life that you want to bring to life?
Psalm 1
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law, day and night.
That person is like a tree
planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither –
whatever they do prospers.
Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
